Relationships or affective and emotional conflicts are the most recurrent themes in the history of both popular and cultured songs. But there are certainly songs that reflect social commitment, and denounce situations of injustice or call for resistance against oppression and political repression. The song has always been an excellent vehicle both to transmit ideas of emancipation and messages of hope, as well as to encourage oppressed peoples or minorities to rebel against injustices.
Under the title «Songs for thinking (and acting) «, Lilofee and Raphaël as Sweet Winds duet have selected a series of songs «with foundation», avoiding letters that refer to ephemeral events, since the social or political letters that refer to such events expire at once. Therefore they have chosen songs whose content can have a universal value. The selected songs are from well-known or popular anonymous authors. They include several types of compositions, not only purely protest songs, but also songs that express philosophical or ideological questions or positions in the face of the human condition or crisis situations. This unique and original program covers several periods, geographical and cultural areas, and the songs are interpreted in several languages.
Sweet Winds propose two configurations for this concert: as duet, or with Zilan as guest singer and musician
Sweet Winds (as duet)
Sweet Winds is a musical duet created by german female singer Lilofee (see extended biography here) and french ethnomusicologist, multi-instrumentist, singer and songwriter Raphaël Parejo (short biography here). Zilan (artistic name) is a spanish female singer and musician who performs with various musical bands. She is singing since her childhood. She has very eclectic musical preferences (international songs, rock, folk, blues). Her special passions are Oriental music and songs from Mediterranean Countries. She also sings songs from Latin America (especially andean countries and Argentina) and Spain. She sings in Spanish, Euskera (Basque language), Arab language, Greek, Turkish, and Kurdish, and plays various types of percussions (argentinian bombo, frame drums, etc…)
